Why your business card is important
In this digital age, don’t discount the importance of your business card, as it should function as a mini billboard for your brand. Here are five business card tips you can use to transform your cards from meh to wow! Hand out something they’ll hang on to long after they’ve met you, as opposed to something that gets tossed as soon as they get back to the office.
5 Tips to Transform Your Business Card
- Get creative! Communicate what your business does through your card design, instead of relying on a boring rectangle. Check out our photos and the link below for inspiration.
- White space doesn’t have to be white. How many times have you received a business card that was so cluttered, it was difficult to find the person’s email address? Leave adequate “white space” to allow the most important contact information to stand out.
- The back of your card is prime real estate. Many people leave the back of their business cards blank, but it is a great spot to add useful additional information. You can add your logo, website, or tagline to reinforce your brand. Or, include a list of your services, provide store hours, or even a map if you are a retail business.
- Avoid cheap paper stock. When you hand someone your card, it should elicit a reaction. We’ve used metal, super thick 3-ply paper stock, wood, and even plastic (see top photo) to achieve this result!
- Hire a professional. As a business owner, you shouldn’t underestimate the value of your business card. Hire an agency skilled in print design. Don’t rely on DIY online printers, if you truly want a card that stands out from the competition.
